Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” becomes the first Filipino-dubbed film on Disney+ and is set to premiere on the platform on September 25.
Disney+ Philippines recently made the announcement at a media event where it also unveiled a very special appearance from Joshua Garcia, who voiced Lance Slashblade, a dramatic hero whom Riley had a crush on in the movie. “Inside Out 2” marks Garcia’s first foray into animation dubbing, an experience he said was difficult yet rewarding.
Joshua Garcia reveals how big of a fan he is of animated films, which was why he took on on the project: “Fan talaga ako ng animation at ng ‘Inside Out’ kaya na-excite ako sa opportunity an ‘to. Akala ko ‘nung una madali lang siya, pero hindi biro ‘yung experience kaya looking forward ako makita ‘yung final.” As challenging as it was, the Pinoy Big Brother alum revealed how Disney ensured he had what he needed to pull it off well.
“Inside Out 2” currently holds the record for the country’s fourth highest-grossing film and the second highest-grossing animation. Disney+ subscribers will now be able to feel all the feels once again as the movie will be made available in Filipino dubs starting September 25.
