Fans of the epic trilogy now have their first look at the newest chapter in the Dune saga with the release of Dune 3 movie trailer which hints the future for Paul Atreides and Chani after the events of the Dune: Part Two.
Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya reprise their roles in the sci-fi epic. The official Dune 3 teaser trailer provides a glimpse of the future for Atreides and Chani, here talking about naming their future child. The trailer opens up to shots of the beautiful landscape in Arrakis and then shows us Paul and Chani. We then hear Paul’s voice over images of war. “War feeds on itself,” he says. “The more I fight, the more enemies fight back.”
“I’m doing the best I can to protect my family,” we hear him say we see different characters, old and new, and images of battle are shown.
He then asks his mother, Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson): “How did father do it?”
She simply replies: Your father never started a war.
The trailer provided a look at the cast, including Javier Bardem, Anya Taylor-Joy, Florence Pugh, and Jason Momoa, whose character, Duncan Idaho, died in the first movie. It’s interesting to see how his return is explained in the movie.
We also get a first look at the new antagonist, Scytale, played by Robert Pattinson, who sports a totally new look.
Throughout the trailer, we see images of battle and glimpses of high-tension scenes. Enhanced by a haunting score, the Dune 3 trailer climaxes into a shot of Paul Atreides, with his buzz cut, preparing for another fight.
“I’m not afraid to die,” he says. “But I must not die yet.”
Directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Villeneuve and Brian K. Vaughan,
is based on the novel Dune Messiah by Frank Herbert and delivers the epic conclusion to Villeneuve’s trilogy. The film stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Isaach De Bankolé, with Charlotte Rampling, with Anya Taylor-Joy, and Robert Pattinson, and Javier Bardem, and features newcomers Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke.
The movie opens in cinemas on December 16, 2026.
